whitman hanson girls' soccer

The Whitman Hanson girls’ soccer team improved to 2-0 on the season with a 5-0 win over visiting Duxbury. Whitman Hanson took a 1-0 lead in the first half when Freshman Lauren Bonavita took a Taylor Robertson pass along the end line and fired a shot in to the upper corner. Whitman Hanson came out in the second half and continued to apply pressure on the Duxbury net. Sophomore Taylor Robertson made it 2-0 when she took a Rachel Kelly (2 assists) pass and fired in to the upper right corner. Bonavita got her second on a 20yd blast and Freshman Eve Montgomery made it 4-0 when she finished a through ball from Alexis Fruzzetti. Casey Corr made it 5-0 on a shot into the lower left corner. The Whitman Hanson defense of Katie Korzec, Elana Wood, Jill Shangold and Kat O’Kane were strong all night and helped goalkeeper Arianna Comendul earn the shutout.
