The Whitman Hanson girls soccer team defeated Patriot League rival silver Lake 3-2 this afternoon. Whitman Hanson jumped out to a 2-0 lead on goals from Taylor Kofton and Rachel Kelly. Silver Lake cut the lead in half until Lauren Bonavita hit a 25yd blast that put Whitman Hanson in front 3-1 at the half. Both teams battled back and forth in the second half until a Silver Lake throw in was deflected in to the goal with 7 minutes remaining. Strong defensive play by Katie Korzec, Maddie Shea, Kat O’Kane and Kelsey Gilbert kept Silver Lake off the board. Tatlor Robertson ( 1 assist) had an outstanding game for Whitman Hanson who improves to 9-1-2 on the season.
